FAQ
How do I book a session?
Booking is super easy! Just click the "Book Now" link and choose a date and time that works best for you. Once you hit submit, your request comes straight to my inbox for approval. If everything looks good, a 30% retainer is due at the time of booking to secure your session, and the remaining 70% is due on the day of your session.
Where will the session take place?
We can meet wherever feels best for you! Whether it’s a nearby park, or a special spot that means something to your family, I’ll help you choose the perfect location.
Do you guide poses, or is it all candid?
I do a mix of both! I’ll give gentle prompts to help everyone feel natural, but I love capturing those spontaneous, real-life moments too.
What if my kids (or pets) don’t cooperate?
No worries at all! I’ve got plenty of tricks up my sleeve to get giggles, smiles, and adorable candid shots even if the little ones have other plans in mind.
Can we request specific shots or ideas?
Absolutely! If you have a vision, a favorite pose, or a special moment you want captured, I’d love to make it happen.
What is the additional travel fee?
If your shoot location is more than 30 miles from Farmington, MN, the standard IRS mileage rate of $0.70 per mile will apply. This is calculated one way beyond the 30-mile included distance. For example, if your shoot is 50 miles from Farmington, 20 miles each way (out and back) would be charged at $0.70 per mile, for a total of 40 miles × $0.70 = $28, which would be added to your total session price.
What if we need more time than allotted?
If you feel like you want more time, we can absolutely talk about extending your session so you don’t miss a single smile! I try and structure my session times to best accommodate most projects, but I understand sometimes we want to go beyond what is included. If more time is desired, an additional fee will apply.
Are we able to share our photos how we want and print them wherever we like?
Absolutely! Your images are yours to enjoy. You’ll receive a private online gallery where you can view, download, and share your photos freely. You are welcome to print your images wherever you like, whether that’s at a local lab, online printer, or with a professional album service. We’re here to make sure your memories are completely yours to enjoy and share.
How far in advance should we book our Session?
I recommend booking as early as possible, ideally a few weeks in advance, so we can lock in the perfect date and time for your family. Spots can fill up quickly, especially during busy seasons. That said, if something pops up last minute, I am usually pretty good at accommodating.
Are deposits refundable?
Deposits are non-refundable because they secure your session time and hold your spot on my calendar. Think of it as reserving your special moment! If something comes up and you need to reschedule, I’m usually happy to work with you to find a new date that works.
